Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced GIS Surveyor to work in the electrical domain. The candidate will be responsible for collecting and submitting data related to transmission lines, substations, feeders, 11 kV lines, LT lines, distribution transformers, and other electrical infrastructure.
02/ Responsibilities
What You’ll Own
Conduct GIS surveys for transmission lines, substations, feeders, 11 kV lines, LT lines, and distribution transformers.
Perform transmission survey work including tower or pole location, conductor details, route alignment, and asset tagging.
Carry out substation survey work covering yard layout, equipment mapping, transformers, breakers, panels, and associated assets.
Execute feeder survey tasks including route mapping, connectivity validation, consumer indexing linkage, and network tracing.
Ensure coordinates, asset attributes, and technical parameters are captured accurately as per utility standards.
Validate field photos, GPS coordinates, and network connectivity within the GIS platform.
Coordinate with QC teams for data correction, re-verification, and re-surveys when required.
Work closely with GIS analysts, supervisors, and project engineers to maintain data quality and consistency.
Follow project specifications, safety guidelines, and regulatory norms during field work.
03/ Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Diploma or ITI in Electrical, GIS, Surveying, or a related field.
At least 1 year of hands-on GIS survey experience, preferably in electrical utilities.
Good understanding of poles, substations, DTRs, 11 kV or LT lines, feeders, and transmission assets.
Familiarity with GIS and mobile survey applications.
Proficiency in MS Excel, data validation, and field photo handling.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication ability.
Ability to travel to different field locations.
Experience in RAPDRP, IPDS, or Smart Metering projects is preferred.
Basic knowledge of electrical safety and field protocols is preferred.
